Company Profile

Company Overview

EcoSystems Restoration Associates (ERA), a division of TCB, provides comprehensive Design-Build ecological restoration and natural resources management services that enhance and create self-sustainable habitats - including environments for threatened and endangered species. ERA includes four core practice areas: Ecosystems Restoration; Ecological Studies; Conservation Planning; and Biogeography.

Ecosystems Restoration: the restoration of ecosystems is a fairly new science. However, by using knowledge from other related disciplines - such as wildlife biology, soil sciences and agriculture – and applying proven methods and technologies, ERA is able to cost effectively restore ecosystems, thereby meeting the goals and objectives of public and private entities, and non-profit organizations. ERA provides Design-Build services which include the design, planning, implementation, construction, maintenance, and monitoring of native habitat restoration programs. ERA also owns and operates a 10-acre native plant nursery allowing our restoration ecologists to be in full control of the quality of plants under production and grow plants from known source locations. Our nursery also provides research opportunities particularly to investigate the propagation of rare and endangered plants for which knowledge is scarce or unavailable.

ERA’s Ecological Studies practice provides comprehensive wildlife and botanical surveys and studies. We specialized in large-scale, complex assignments where botanists, wildlife biologists, and biogeographers work together to provide statistically rigorous analyses than can be used for the sound management of natural and ecological resources. Areas of focus include ornithology, herpetology, entomology, and botany.

ERA’s Conservation Planning practice focuses on developing science-based land, habitat, and species management plans as well as conservation strategies. Our approach to conservation planning is a natural resource problem-solving and management process. We integrate ecological (natural resource), economic, and social considerations to meet private and public needs. This approach, which emphasizes identifying desired future conditions, improves natural resource management, minimizes conflict, and addresses problems and opportunities.

Biogeography is the study of the distributions of plants and animals in both space and time. The spatial component of biogeography attempts to describe and explain the distributions of one or more species. Biogeography may also try to elucidate the changing distributions of organisms over time, either in the short term or over geological time. ERA’s biogeographers are intimately involved in all of ERA’s disciplines and work side by side with restoration ecologists, wildlife biologists, and conservation biologists in determining the distributions of focal species, vegetation communities, and assessing the changes over time due to restoration practices. Using the latest GIS/GPS technologies, ERA is able to provide the highest quality products in this dynamic field.
